Also known as Kompomg Sorm (which means ''Port of the Moon''), Sihaoukville is located about 230 km south of Phnom Penh on a small Peninsula. It became world famous for the beaches filled with activities and small bars. It's definitely a fantastic place to relax under an umbrella, swim in the hot waters, have a cold drink and eat local seafood. If you are more interested in nightlife, some bars in Occheteal beach provide crazy parties almost everyday during the high season. If you prefer a quite place, don't worry, there are also other beaches very close that can fulfill your wishes!
Besides being a fabulous beaches destination there are other attractions in Sihanoukville! There are two pagodas open to public, the famous and central Golden Lions Monument or the very typical central markets in downtown. If you are tired of the sea, why not have a short trip to the nearby country sides (who doesn't like to drive among the rices paddies and buffalos!?), or have a look at the Kbal Chhay Waterfalls? The Ream National Park is also a very nice destination for trekking in the forest, looking for (or avoiding?) animals and tropical plants and flowers, even for a single day trip! Distant from a couple of kilometers, Kampong Pier Nup Lok is a nice fishermen port, where you can find the best deals if you're looking for raw fish and seafood!
If instead you want to enjoy the beach side, there are also more and more watersports like sailing (on different kind of boats), windsurf, kite-surf, and even water jetpack! Of course, the port city offers fantastic scuba diving and snorkeling facilities. Sihanoukville is a great point of departure to discover natural treasures such as the islands of Koh Rong, Koh Rong Salem or Koh Tang which provide the best snorkeling spots of Cambodia with their fascinating coral fish.
Sihanoukville Tourist Attractions hence comes in wide variety which is sure to leave you with cherished memories.
